Fed: ABC rebuffs Labor push to rewrite charter for on line

CANBERRA, Feb 8 AAP - Labor's resurrected bid to rewrite broadcasting rules for the
digital age has been slapped down by one of the bodies it wants to protect - the ABC.

Labor wants to lift bans on the ABC and SBS showing sport, comedy and drama on new
multiple digital channels, bans which it supported last year, and write the ABC's on-line
services into the ABC Act and charter.
